Lead the Change: A No-Cost Opportunity for Principals Ready to Level Up

Leading a school is not easy.  The demands are high, the expectations even higher, and ensuring every student receives the support they need? That takes more than good intentions; it takes the right knowledge, tools, and community.

That’s where the Lead IDEA Leadership Academy comes in.

This no-cost, year-long professional learning opportunity is designed specifically for PreK–12 principals and assistant principals who want to strengthen their leadership and better serve students with disabilities and their families.

What to Expect

Participants in the academy will join a national cohort of peers and engage in monthly virtual learning sessions and two in-person events (fall 2025 and spring 2026) — all rooted in real-world challenges and solutions. You’ll dive into topics like:

  • Creating supportive school environments for students with disabilities
  • Building family-school partnerships that actually work
  • Aligning your leadership with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
  • Making data-informed decisions that lead to better outcomes for all students

Throughout the year, you’ll receive practical resources, ongoing support, and the opportunity to grow your network — not just with other school leaders, but with national experts who are deeply engaged in this work.

This is more than professional development — it’s a chance to lead real change in your school community.

And here’s the best part: It’s completely free. Yes, even your travel.

Applications Are Open — But Not for Long

Don’t miss your chance to be part of something that matters. Applications are now being accepted for the 2025-2026 cohort with priority consideration given to application received by August 15. A supervisor’s letter of support is required.  Seats are limited, and this opportunity won’t come around often.
